Women of Distinction Awards

Last month, 6 honorable women won the Women of Distinction awards. These women push for diversity and inclusion every day at the University of the Pacific and in the surrounding community. The winners of these awards are announced during Women’s History Month each year. Nominations for the honorees are accepted prior to the announcement of the winners. Any member of the Pacific community can nominate a woman who has made an impact on their lives.

This year's winners include, Ederlina Co (associate professor), Elaine Mo (associate professor), Sahila Shah ’23 (undergraduate student), Celia Castro (interim director for student engagement and transition programs), Cassie Findlay ’22 (graduate student in Benerd College), and Camille Zapata, (Chief of Staff for San Joaquin County Supervisor Kathy Miller).

All of these women have shown strength when facing adversity and a skill for advocating for women's rights. Remember this opportunity next year and nominate the women who have impacted your life and the lives of others in the community!
