Campus Coffee
Whether you’re a college student cramming for the quickly approaching next round of tests and essays, or an alum coming back to campus for homecoming weekend in hopes of reliving your glory days, one thing is necessary: coffee. A staple of both late night study sessions but also the rekindling of friendships, a good coffee is guaranteed to make your steps lighter and your day brighter. Though Pacific’s campus, and the greater Stockton community, is ever evolving, coffee has remained a constant. From on-campus dining, to campus coffee shops, and even off-campus, but still walkable, there’s nothing short of a myriad of options to choose from.
Campus Dining:
The Marketplace: A guaranteed great start to your morning, the Marketplace is the hub of on-campus dining at Pacific. With daily changing menus and a staff sure to brighten your day, there is no better place to eat a nutritious meal, with a cup of joe. A breakfast menu stacked with omlettes to baked goods to freshly prepared pancakes and french toast, the Marketplace is sure to have just the breakfast to compliment a morning cup of coffee.
Health Services Cafe: Known for its convenience, the Health Sciences Cafe caters to students. Open from 7:30 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon every weekday, the cafe is located in the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy. Offering a selection of breakfast pastries and goods, grab-and-go options, and espresso drinks, the cafe is known as a common pick-me-up for students across campus, and an easily accessible option for many.
On Campus:
Trail: A pinnacle of Pacific, Trail Coffee Roasters serves not only the student-body, but the community, as it’s just a block or so off the Miracle Mile. Offering free wifi, outdoor and indoor seating, specialty goods, including gluten free options, and a welcoming atmosphere, Trail even sells stickers. Boasting a staff supreme at latte art and customer service, Trail is known for more than its coffee. Committed to both coffee and the community, Trail continues to source their coffee from a farmstead in Nicaragua and their beans from around the world. Stop by and sip slowly in an iconic orange, adirondack chair!
Starbucks: It wouldn’t be a college campus without a Starbucks! Located in the back of the campus library, its location could not be more intentional, whether you’re stopping in for a study snack, some motivation before class, or meeting a friend for a group project. And for the alum returning for homecoming, it’s the perfect place to rejuvenate and reminisce before embarking on a day of walking and reflecting. Offering Starbucks’ menu, including seasonal options, the store takes meal plan dollars, as well as Pacific cash, catering to the college experience.
Off Campus:
Empresso: With three locations all within a mile or two of Pacific’s campus, Empresso is community based and community driven. Offering a diverse menu, including coffee, teas, frappes, smoothies, craft beer, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, pizzas, and salads, there is surely something for everyone. They also sell merchandise and offer delivery service, as well. The original location was in the Miracle Mile neighborhood, and loved so fervently that the local owners were able to open additional locations throughout Stockton. Empresso is passionate about supporting local neighborhoods, good coffee, and enabling everyone to flourish.
Poppy: Perfect for a brisk weekend, or morning walk, Poppy Coffee is just under a half-mile away from the Pacific campus. Another local commodity, they serve Old Soul Co. coffee from nearby Sacramento, as well as offering a fun, wide ranging menu of breakfast items, even including waffles. If you’re not a coffee-lover, they also serve teas and lemonades, sure to make your tastebuds pop!
