For when the University of the Pacific feels extra spooky…

The Halloween spirit has consumed the University of the Pacific. The shadows are deeper, the leaves are more orange, and the hallways are eerier. As the spooky holiday approaches, it is the perfect time to catch up with horror movie classics; particularly, those that take place on college campuses.

“The caller is in the house.”

Black Christmas (1974)

This 70s slasher movie features a group of sorority sisters on winter break who receive mysterious phone calls from an anonymous caller. An initially harmless call turns into a fight for survival as the sisters begin to go missing, or worse, at the hands of an elusive serial killer.

“What’s your favorite scary movie?”

Scream 2 (2009)

After the events of the first installment, this movie follows the survivors of the late Ghostface killer as they navigate a familiar scene of horror at college. Alongside adjusting to the unfamiliar university setting, they must discover who the copycat killer is before they all succumb to the slasher.

“You’ve killed me before.”

Happy Death Day (2017)

A sorority sister wakes up on her birthday feeling that she has already lived through the current day before. When she dies at the hands of a masked murderer and wakes up again with the same feeling, she must relive the events of her fated birthday until she can reveal the culprit.
