Here are some ways you can celebrate APID Heritage/Pride/Sustainability Month at Pacific!
Typically, APID Heritage month and Pride Month are celebrated in May and June respectively. In order to celebrate them during the academic calendar year, Pacific celebrates them in April alongside sustainability month!
On April 5th, the APID (Asian, Pacific Islander, and Desi), Pride, and Sustainability kickoff was hosted via collaboration of many departments here at Pacific. The event included “live performances, arts and trinket vendors, a community resource fair, and sweet treats” and many Pacificans attended. If you missed the kickoff but still want to celebrate this month, do not worry! There are plenty of events still happening throughout the month!

Among the University’s core values are inclusion and sustainability, and many of these events exemplify the efforts that Pacific staff and student organizations put into making sure the University stays true to these values. These events are often collaborative efforts between departments and their staff, many of which are students. There are Pacifican staff and students all across campus making sure that these events run smoothly and that resources are always available for every student.
Due to recent events on Pacific’s campus, it has become especially important for events like these to be held and attended! This month holds value to many Pacific students and community members, ensuring that despite Pride and APID month landing in the summer, Pacific students still have a way to celebrate their identities and these months!
