written by Declan McJilton

There was some intense action in the Alex Spanos Center for the Men’s Basketball showdown against the #6 ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs. The Tigers led most of the first half shooting 48% in field goals and 67% in 3-pointers. With the score tied 45-45 at half, the Tyges had the crowd on their feet. The Bulldogs eventually retook the lead, ending the game 99-90.

The top scorers for Pacific on the night were Jordan Ivy-Curry, 25’ (Communications) with 17 points, Nick Blake, 24’ (Sociology) with 16 points and Keylan Boone, 24’ (Communications) with 15. The team overall shot at around a 45% from three and 47% from inside the arc.

White out theme for the game drew in a ton of fans, bringing in 4,376 people in the stands which is the most since 2019. The excitement definitely helped the Tyges hit some clutch 3’s in the first half to pull them ahead.

With the WCC Conference tournament just a little over a month away, the Tigers are looking to dominate their remaining games. Pacific traveled over to Santa Clara for a huge win away. The Tigers also set a season high of 17 3-pointers made against the Broncos.

Make sure to check social media and posters around campus to check out when the next home basketball game will be so you can get out and support the Tigers!
