Welcome Staff Writer Julian Leal

Julian Leal, ‘27 (Media X) is a first-year student who knows a little too much about SpongeBob. Apart from watching cartoons, he loves to read, play volleyball and do origami.

Julian has lived in Stockton, CA, his entire life and cannot recommend Ssong’s Korean Hotdogs enough.

Before committing to University of the Pacific, Julian regularly participated in community service with Changeist and Little Manila Rising, two local, non-profit organizations. Their youth-centered programs promoted social advocacy and historical preservation, encouraging him to explore Stockton beyond the lens of comfort. Julian was also involved with varsity sports and theater in high school.

Julian is a member of the Powell Scholars, Pacific Humanities Scholars and First-Year Honors Programs. As a Media X major, he hopes to hone his storytelling, marketing and design skills. This is Julian’s first year working for The Pacifican.
