Welcome Staff Writer Megan Silva

Born and raised in Stockton, Megan loves writing about all the hidden gems in Stockton, from restaurants and grocery stores to thrift stores. You can always count on her for a coffee or soup recommendation.

She is a Media X Major with a minor in Management, and she is also a part of the Legal Advantage Program. She is planning on becoming an entertainment lawyer. In addition to writing for the newspaper, she is a member of Phi Alpha Delta, and she works on campus as a Media X Ambassador. She was recently hired onto Mayor Kevin Lincoln’s campaign for Congress to manage the campaign social media (she also runs The Pacifican Instagram, so if you see any cute little tigers on Mayor Lincoln’s page, you’ll know there’s been a mix up).

Prior to her time at Pacific, Megan was an active member of San Joaquin Delta College’s campus, and was the Commencement Speaker at her graduation. She was Director of Programming for their radio station, where she had a long running show called Delta Book Club that was recognized by the Associated Collegiate Press in 2023 as one of the best college podcasts in the United States. She also was a producer for DCTV News: which won Best College News Broadcast for a 2-Year Program that same year.

When not working, Megan enjoys playing piano and guitar. She was a music teacher at Clancy’s Music for three years, only stopping recently to focus on her education at Pacific. She also enjoys reading, especially women’s history books and historical romance novels. Her favorite thing about Pacific is when A&E has Karaoke Nights in The Lair. She also loves cooking, which is why she started the Pacifican Cooks series. Megan has been writing for the Pacifican since 2023, and feels that the newspaper has given her a sense of community and belonging on campus. Her favorite articles to work on have been Spooky Southwest and Smart Shopping for Pacific Students: Grocery Edition.
