Amaya’s other involvements on campus include: The women's water polo team, Vice President of the Pacific Political Science Association, Pacific Student Athlete Advisory Committee co-mental-health-chair, member of the Legal Advantage Program, Phi Alpha Delta, Pi Sigma Alpha, and Mortar Board.

She enjoys reading, writing, and cooking. She is from Portland, Oregon, and has a younger sister. She was homeschooled through high school and took piano lessons for seven years.

When asked about what she looks forward to about being a part of The Pacifican this year, she said “Working with all the wonderful people I get to call fellow staff members and peers! I love meeting every week and producing articles for our campus.”
